The 2011 Kids RARI book is Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin -- a 2010 Newbery Honor book and 2011 RI Children's Book Award nominee! Grace, both an author and an illustrator, graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Grace currently lives in Somerville, Massachusetts with her husband, Alex.

Sounds fantastic! I have a fourth grade class which just started to read WTMMTM. They are very bright and literature loving kids, and will be going to the state house celebration. We are crossing our fingers and hoping we can get to have an author visit from Ms. Lin!
